Torres or Chelsea's problem

Torres
All football managers, players and fans knows how big this guy was back then. Become the youngest captain at his former club Athletico Madrid, he then quickly grabs a place in The Kop fans and many said that he will be one of the greaters PL striker. With his first season debut with Liverpool he scored 24 goals in 33 appearance. Amazing for a new comer at the PL. A total of 214 appearance and 82 goals at Athletico, 102 appereance and 65 goals for Liverpool but somehow, a very little numbers of goals scored by this lad for Chelsea.

Since his injury at liverpool and world cup, Torres has not been much of deadly striker. But, against Chelsea while he was still a Liverpool player, he had been the most prolific scorers. Scores plenty of magnificent goals against Chelsea before he transfer to the Blues early of the season. Football pundits says that he is in a really bad form.

You don’t become a bad player overnight – cliched, but true. He will get back to his best and many says, he is getting closer to it. But, whenever we seems to see the old Torres firing the net again, there is always something wrong somewhere happens to him. With first red card of the season given to him after scoring a tremendous goal against Swansea this season, everything seems wrong for him since then. Whenever he plays, people judge him with either he score or not. But, the contribution that he gave to them team is still can be considered really good.

50 million price tag might put a huge pressure on him and he is not scoring. Sad but the case is, he is trying to do his best and we all know he is a good player whether he score or not but since he is rated 50 million, people seems to judge him with his goals.

Chelsea
This season we see a fresh atmosphere and a brand new style of football that Andre Villas Boas bring to Stamford Bridge. An entertaining football that is long wanted by Roman Abramovich. But, the numbers of win that AVB delivers is too few compared to Jose Mourinho.

Many saying that Torres is just not good enough anymore but some football experts says that its Chelsea that does not give enough service to Torres. While in Liverpool, every player in the team give full service to Torres. He is playing the lone-striker role and hundreds of passes and crosses all are focused to him. But in Chelsea, its different. All players seems want to score and with the presence of Didier Drogba, it just difficult for Torres to win 1st team place. Eventhough Drogba's peak years is behind him, the whole team seems to stick to their old style of play. When Lampard and Torres plays together, we will always see that Lampard and Torres runs into the same space, same direction and seldom plays one-two passes. This is because, Lampard is not like Steven Gerrard. Stevie G excel with services and deadly passes to strikers whenever he plays. Lampard is different, he plays as a very attack-minded player and always create the room for himselt and do forward runs. That is whay we see he scores most of his goal from the position of a striker.

Lampard is the playmaker for the Blues from years and actually, we can clearly says that he is not giving enough service to Torres. Weird but, search for stats and you will see that the most passes that Torres receive is from Juan Mata, D. Sturridge and Meireles. These players are the new first team comer for the Blues. Malouda is also almost the same is Lampard, always going for goals himself and often we saw the old generation of the Blues plays one-two passes but when played with the new generation, most probably we will see a very litle numbers of one-two passes that produce goals.

Torres vs Lampard
Lampard needs the team to be built around him to succeed. The build up is slow, direct, and allows him time to run into the box. Torres is the exact opposite, he needs space behind the defenders. The common misconception is that Torres needs a 10 delivering passes. While the service provided to him was shockingly horrific thus far, it isn't about that. Liverpool play with so much pace the team was made for Torres. In a way, Chelsea was probably the worst team he could have gone to in the EPL in terms of style. Drogba is different, he doesn't need service because his game is built around power. He creates his own space. The team the last 5 years wasn't built around Drogba, it was catered to Lampard, but Drogba was the reason the team did so well.

Torres and Lampard both do the same thing but can't play the same way. Torres needs a counter attacking style, Lampard the slow, direct build up.Lampard and Drogba have to go. Neither will go quietly. They've been treated like Gods their whole life and will soon have to face life as a normal person. No more hero worship, paychecks, girls, excitement, sense of purpose, most go broke due to stupidity. They say the most dangerous year of your life is the year right after you retire. For footballers it comes much earlier than us, and the fall is a lot farther. Roberto Di Mateo said he went into depression, not uncommon.

Torres is 27, Lampard is 33. One of these two will disappoint this season because Villas Boas will probably play them both. It's very possible that they both will if he does.Lampard have to go and if Torres continues to stink we'll have to get rid of him too. We can't continue with the same squad we'll have to move on. Players like Luka Modric is a MUST. It's amazing how little the board rates him. Cesc and Modric are the best midfielders in the EPL in my own opinion. Sir Alex named Modric the Player of the season. Barton said Nasri/Modric were the two best. We need players like them, excel in being a creative team player.

4 reason why you feel stressed with work/study

Why some people feel more stressed than others

Take a break pal
This is the most common reason why people get too stressed on what they do. They cannot stop thinking about their work, responsibilities and etc. Most of working parents when they get back from work, they still think about their work. This shows that these type of people does not have a place called home to rest their body and mind. Imagine a car, being used for a long trip and does not given a single rest or stop. For sure, the car will be ruined, damaged and will not be able to be used anymore. Same goes to human, we are not a machine,we need a break,a rest and furthermore life is too short to only focus on the things that made our life a mess.

Choose to be happy
As we can see, people in the 20th century are not the same as the community back in the 19th century because of technologies. People nowadays are far more friendly on the net rather than in their real life. The community has changed and this affect people with stress as we all know a smiles on a person really can give relief to others. According to Menshealth magazine, smiling requires less muscle to work than a sad facial expression. When we feel stress, the muscles in our face get tired by a longing bad facial expression. A laughter or a smile can help to relief those stressed muscles. Not only muscles but your mind as well as we feel more relax by hanging out with friends, laughing together and etc. This is also one way to take some rest from our stressful work conditions or environment. So do your body and mind some favor and give others a smiles. There is no harm being happy.

Not enough time for everything? Then everything is wrong with you
Some working or some students always think that there is not enough time to have some fun with their busy schedule. Give me a break because this is so wrong. Your company allocate 8 hours a day at your office to give your best with your work, 5 days a week/some 6 days a week to work on whatever you are doing. What did you do with the other 16 hours a days in your working or studying life? If you think that there is not enough time to do everything and enjoy your own life, manage your time wisely cause as a human being we should have all the time in the world to enjoy our own life.

Mentality
Ever heard of people saying or complaining that their job is not fun at all? These sort of things came from the people that have their mentality set as there is no fun about working or studying at all. Change your mentality, think about something good that your job contribute to the society or to whoever and you will be proud of what you are doing.

Working or studying should be fun and made you life a lot better. Not turning your life to a messy life. Successful people are the one who excel in managing their stress.

The Tiki-Taka Football

Tiki-taka (spelled tiqui-taca in Spanish) is a philosophy of football, taken from the Total Football philosophy which is playing a short passing and quick movement, working the ball through various channels, and maintaining possession during the game. The style is primarily associated with La Liga club FC Barcelona and the Spanish national team under managers Luis Aragonés and Vicente del Bosque.Tiki-taka has been variously described as a style of play based on creating chances and goals through short passing and movement. With this style, the ball is worked carefully through various channels.
"short passing, patience and possession above all else"-The Tiki-Taka-

Midfielder is one of the keys of tiki-taka style of plays.
The tiki-taka style of play originates with Johan Cruyff's tenure as manager of Barcelona from 1988 to 1996. It continued under Barcelona's Dutch coaches Louis van Gaal and Frank Rijkaard and was adopted by other La Liga teams such as Villarreal CF under coaches Manuel Pellegrini and Juan Carlos Garrido.

Raphael Honigstein describes the tiki-taka played by the Spanish national team at the 2010 FIFA World Cup as "a radical style that only evolved over the course of four years", arising from Spain's decision in 2006 that "they weren't physical and tough enough to outmuscle opponents, so instead wanted to concentrate on monopolising the ball."

Tactical overview
We have the same idea as each other as a footballer. Keep the ball, create movement around and off the ball, get in the spaces to cause danger.—Xabi Alonso (Spanish midfielder)

The style involves roaming movement and positional interchange amongst midfielders, moving the ball in unpredictable patterns, and sharp, one or two-touch passing and waiting for a an opportunity to score goals with patience. Tiki-taka is "both defensive and offensive in equal measure"– the team is always in possession, so everytime the opponent gets the ball, the whole team are ready to get the ball back (high- pressing). Football pundits have contrasted tiki-taka with "route one physicality" and with the higher-tempo passing of Arsène Wenger's 2008 Arsenal side, which employed Cesc Fàbregas as the only channel between defence and attack.Tiki-taka is associated with flair, creativity, and touch, but can also be taken to a "slow, directionless extreme" that sacrifices effectiveness for aesthetics but prove to be so effective in winning games.

Notable successes

Spanish national team
UEFA Euro 2008 and 2010 FIFA World Cup
FC Barcelona
win all titles they competed in 2009, making them the only team in the world ever to have achieved The Sextuple.

Barcelona's tiki-taka tradition has been credited with producing a generation of technically talented, often physically small players such as Xavi, Andrés Iniesta, Cesc Fàbregas and Lionel Messi. This conclude that players with excellent touch, vision and passing, who excel at maintaining possession and have a good stability will be suited most with this style of play.

Sid Lowe identifies Luis Aragonés's tempering of tiki-taka with pragmatism as a key factor in Spain's success in Euro 2008. Aragonés used tiki-taka to "protect a defense that appeared suspect, maintain possession and dominate games" without taking the style to "evangelical extremes". None of Spain's first six goals in the tournament came from tiki-taka, five came from direct breaks and one from a set play. For Lowe, Spain's success in the 2010 World Cup was evidence of the meeting of two traditions in Spanish football, the "powerful, aggressive, direct" style that earned the silver medal-winning 1920 Antwerp Olympics team the nickname La Furia Roja ("The Red Fury"), and the tiki-taka style of the contemporary Spanish team, which focussed on a collective, short-passing, technical and possession-based game.

Analyzing Spain's semi-final victory over Germany at the 2010 World Cup, Spanish team's tiki-taka style appeared as "the most difficult version of football tactics, an uncompromising passing game, coupled with intense and high pressing. The Tiki-taka is the version of Total Football philosophy that does not require players to switch position too often and this helps in retaining energy throughout the game. Tiki-taka allowed Spain to "control both the ball and the opponent.
"Let the ball do the work and control the opponent"-Johan Cyruff

Another lose for AVB's blues army

source:www.independent.co.uk

And so the hangman tightens his noose. Andre Villas-Boas's talk of execution before his side's domestic nightmare infested their European dreams might have seemed premature, almost paranoid, testament to how the spectres of his predecessors, each of them destined to feel the breath hot on their neck and the dreaded touch on their shoulder, loom over the post of Chelsea manager. Now, for the Portuguese too, the shadows lengthen.

Once again, it is Villas-Boas's devotion to the high line which has placed him on the high wire. Against Bayer Leverkusen Chelsea looked safe, he looked safe, thanks to Didier Drogba's ability to summon the spirit of the past even as the power fades. Then his defence, that shimmering chimera, disappeared again. The trapdoor opened.

There is no taste for pointing fingers at Cobham; on that, and almost that alone, Villas-Boas and his players stand in a unison borne of self-protection, of self-delusion. The manager, of course, is responsible; Roman Abramovich will make sure his young charge understands that should, as is eminently possible, Chelsea fail to secure the victory or goalless draw against Valencia in the final group game they require to qualify.

But so, too, are his players. Daniel Sturridge: he is to blame, for allowing Sidney Sam to ghost into space down Chelsea's right, with 20 yards radius of space around him before the nearest blue shirt as he collected Gonzalo Castro's pass, miscontrolled by Eren Derdiyok.

Branislav Ivanovic and Alex: them too, for disappearing as the winger raced towards goal. Petr Cech: him as well, for standing, frozen, on his six-yard box, neither closing down the advancing attacker nor back-tracking towards his line. It was as though he was sinking, weighed down by his own indecision. Sam acted unilaterally, delicately floating a cross past the stranded, marooned goalkeeper and to Derdiyok, who headed home.

There was more: with Chelsea, there is always the sensation that there will be more. Castro floated in a corner and Arne Friedrich, a moment before fortunate not to be punished for clearly tripping Drogba in his penalty area, rose far above any of the blue shirts around him to head home. Chelsea sank to their knees. Chelsea are on their knees.

This was their fourth defeat in seven games. With every loss, the fear which engulfs them, consumes them, becomes more and more apparent. Panic runs among Villas-Boas's players, each of them tortured by self-doubt.

That is how this game started, and how it ended. David Luiz, a player with an unmatched genius for making sure he is the centre of attention, gave the ball away with his first touch. Ninety minutes later, his team-mates – by that stage, he was off the field with sickness – gave the game away.

In between, Chelsea managed to highlight the scale of their identity crisis. Their defensive line, a matter of such scrutiny, ebbed and flowed like the tide, one moment high, the next deep. The Germans took full advantage: Castro, electric, harried Jose Bosingwa, employed at left-back in the absence of the injured Ashley Cole. Lars Bender and Simon Rolfes hared into tackles. A pace ahead, even his face mask could not conceal Michael Ballack's identity. The cocksure strut, the languid, arrogant grace is still unmistakable.

At 35, Ballack remains the sort of presence his former club so plainly lack. He might have given Robin Dutt's side the lead in the first half, heading Castro's corner on to the bar, and he might have had a hat-trick after the break, denied first by Cech's flailing arm, then by his charging shins.

In between, Drogba had scored, Chelsea had rallied, and the German side had wilted. The Ivorian, like Juan Mata and Sturridge, had missed a chance before the interval, rounding Bernd Leno but finding only the side-netting; after the break, he was rather more ruthless, holding up Sturridge's pass, holding off Friedrich, twisting, spinning and rifling a low, fizzing shot into the bottom corner. It was the Drogba of old; squint, and you might have glimpsed the Chelsea of old, too.

That was an illusion, too. The guests' confidence evaporated almost as soon as Frank Lampard, an irrelevance on the night, and Ivanovic has stung Leno's palms. Ballack offered them a warning. As Drogba appealed for a penalty, and Florent Malouda strolled through the Germans' defence only to allow Leno to smother his effort, it seemed irrelevant. Chelsea looked to have survived. The blade, though, was being sharpened. The night was just beginning.

Now, Villas-Boas would be forgiven for allowing his mind to wander the to idea of severance. The severance package, of course, the one he almost seemed to dare Abramovich to offer him after the 2-1 defeat to Liverpool on Sunday extended their point deficit to Premier League leaders Manchester City to 12 points. The Russian billionaire, he insisted, would not shell out yet another fortune simply to be rid of his precocious protégé.

As Derdiyok and then Friedrich headed in, as his players collapsed on the turf, as the shadows lengthened, that boast, that gambit, seemed rash. Now, there is another sort of severance to consider, the sort brought about by the hangman who stands guard by the seat of the Chelsea manager. Villas-Boas's next game is against Wolves. How fitting.

4 Brutal Lessons From Your Days Of Early Childhood Education (That You Didn’t Learn in School)

source:http://www.thesmokingjacket.com

school

A great deal of attention has recently been devoted to the concept of “Play,” namely, that children need free-form environments in which to experiment and build their knowledge organically. While many people would quickly agree that the most important lessons in their lives were learned outside the classroom, the idea of “Play” conjures a whole host of images that are somewhat misleading: children frolicking across sun-kissed playgrounds, a toddler slowly working out the rules of physics by playing with toys, or (for most of us) figuring out how to watch Power Rangers by playing with the remote.

These images are misleading because, unfortunately, the world is a scary, nasty place filled with people who will lie, cheat, steal and murder to get what they want–and a lot of our early childhood education is more from the school of Brutality than Whimsically Catching Butterflies.

Brutal Lesson 1: People Will Deceive You to Get What They Want

carrey

As much as it’s sometimes cast as a distasteful social aberration, lying is as old as life itself, and stubbornly persists in scientists’ models of social interaction. In a child’s education, one of the earliest lessons is that even your closest friends will try to trick and misdirect you to get what they want, and oftentimes, children are the worst perpetrators of elaborate lies–mostly because not everyone in their social circle has figured out how to reliably tell truth from fabrication.

But you’d be surprised just how early in our lives we are taught this brutal lesson. Try to think back to a time in your life where none of your peers lied to you, and you yourself didn’t try to lie to anyone. If you’re finding this particularly hard, it’s because experts believe that we learn to lie as early as six months old. This means you were probably lying before you learned to speak or walk. This indicates that, for some reason, evolution has ensured that our collective early childhood educations teach us to lie before we are able to handle most solid foods or in any way defend ourselves from danger. Though it’s also probable that one too many deceptive games of peek-a-boo have conditioned us all to be lying bastards from an early age.

Skills Learned: How to lie, how to tell if others are lying, an awareness that deception is commonplace, understanding that your parents do not disappear when not making eye contact and that your goldfish never “took a vacation.”

Brutal Lesson 2: Senseless Cruelty

cruel

Studies have shown that at an exceedingly young age, humans understand that there is a basic logic and order to the world. For example, infants shown videos of normal events and improbable events (such as objects passing through solid walls) will spend significantly more time puzzling over the implausible videos. We all have an inborn sense of how things should work, and are confused and distressed when they don’t. This is reinforced through our social interactions growing up, good things happen to good people, bad things happen to bad people, and nothing happens without a reason.

But then, of course, everyone has that story from their childhood where, whether they understood it or not, they learned that the world can be arbitrary and cruel. Usually this involved some innocent animal dying for no reason that is justifiable to our young, innocent, and well-ordered minds. Though to be fair, some people never really learn the heart of this lesson, and live their lives pretending it’s not true. But also, some people don’t really learn to lie effectively, and some people don’t seem to learn that everyone else can tell they’re full of shit.

Skills Learned: You should expect the expected, but realize there’s nothing stopping the tragically unexpected.

Brutal Lesson 3: You Are a Fragile, Mortal Being, Alive for Only A Short Period

sting

For most adults, consciousness of our own mortality is an existential trauma that is fraught with “oh my god I only have a few short decades before I die alone unloved and unmourned, all evidence of my existence vanishing a brief span thereafter.” For children, being alive is simply a backdrop to catching disgusting reptiles and throwing them at girls. From an evolutionary standpoint this makes sense. Your genes only really need you to be afraid of mortal danger, if anything sitting around contemplating the feeble meaninglessness of your existence is counterproductive to having lots and lots of sex (or productive, depending upon your coping mechanism of choice).

Since we live in a developed nation, most of our parents won’t die until we’re well into our 30s or 40s. In fact, most of our grandparents won’t die until we’re in our 20s (if you’re lucky, you might even collect your first social security check before both your parents die). So unsurprisingly, this little bit of early childhood education is usually learned through our first pet dying. In a crushing realization that pretty much every single human being remembers, not just our world, but the entire framework through which we view it comes crashing down. Needless to say, they don’t delve into this much in kindergarten, and often parents will try to defer this brutal lesson by saying that Scruffles “Went to doggie heaven.”

Skills Learned: Your entire existence up to this point has consisted mostly of screwing around because you didn’t understand that you were working with a limited time frame. This will change.

Brutal Lesson 4: Most of the Things You Trusted, Lied to You

teacha

As a child, you’re necessarily forced to vest your trust in some authority figure, be it parental, religious, or educational or all of the above. After all, you’re helpless, hungry, and really need someone to buy a TV so you can watch cartoons. But at a certain point, you realize that these people and institutions that structured your outlook, morality, habits and basically everything about you, are made up of lying, fallible humans.

Unlike Brutal Lesson 1, usually this realization doesn’t come from someone explicitly lying to you. After all, our teachers tell us all sorts of historical fabrications and half truths, yet many of us still have a lot of respect and affection for our Kindergarten teacher (you were the best, Mrs. Roach). This is more often the result of someone in a position of respected authority doing something hypocritical, which leads to the shocking, but not altogether surprising, realization that adults are stupid and fallible just like you and everyone you know.

Skills Learned: Only trusting people that have earned your respect personally, or the respect of your peers. Also, perversely, that a position of power can insulate you from all sorts of bad behavior.

SEA GAMES: Malaysia Defend Sea Games Football Gold Medal

JAKARTA, Nov 21 (Bernama) -- Malaysia defended their gold medal in the football final at the 26th SEA Games when they defeated Indonesia 5-4 on penalties at the Utama Gelora Bung Karno Stadium, here, Monday night.

Malaysian's winning goal in the penalty kick was by team captain Baddrol Bakhtiar when the two countries were tied 4-4 after Ferdinan Sinaga's penalty kick was blocked by Khairul Fahmi Che Mat.

The defeat squashed the hope of Indonesian squad under Rahmad Darmawan to collect gold after their last football gold in 1991.

Playing before a 100,000-crowd, Malaysia were shocked by a fourth minute goal through a header by defender Gunawan Dwi Cahayo.

Even under pressure with the early goal, Ong Kim Swee's charges were not demoralised as they mounted several dangerous attacks through the combination of Baddrol Bakhtiar, Ahmad Fakri Saarani dan A. Thamil Arasu.

In the 16th minute, the national squad were shocked again with a second goal but it was denied by referee Tojo Minoru of Japan as scorer Titus Bonai was offside.

The Indonesian trio of Octovianus, Patrich Wanggai and Titus made several dangerous attempts but goalkeeper Khairul Fahmi worked hard to stop them.

In the 33rd minute, Asraruddin Putra Omar broke the Indonesian defence with a header just outside the penalty area to equalise for Malaysia.

The score was tied 1-1 at half time, and the two teams continued to look for the winning goal.

Malaysia appeared to dominate play in the second half but could not yield a goal.

The Malaysian defence mounted by Khairul Fahmi and his defenders gave an outstanding performance in deflecting Indonesia's attacks.

In the 77th minute, Kim Swee put in Muhd Nazmi Faiz Mansor to replace K. Gurusamy and Yong Kuong Yong to replace Thamil Arasu three minutes later.

The move paid off as Muhd Nazmi and Yong with Mohd Irfan and Baddrol created several close calls against Indonesia.

The match was tied at 1-1 in regular time and the score remained unchanged in extra time.

Octovianus was chosen as the best player of the match tonight.

Myanmar took the bronze medal when they beat the 2009 SEA Games runners-up Vietnam 4-1 today.

List of players:

MALAYSIA: Khairul Fahmi Che Mat, Mahali Jasuli, Mohd Fadhli Mohd Shas, Mohamad Muslim Ahmad, Mohd Asraruddin Putra Omar (Mohamad Fandi Othman), Mohd Zubir Mohd Azmi, Mohd Irfan Fazail, K. Gurusamy (Muhd Nazmi Faiz Mansor), Baddrol Bakhtiar, A. Thamil Arasu (Yong Kuong Yong), Ahmad Fakri Saarani.

SEA Games: Two die as Malaysia win football gold

source:http://news.google.com.my

JAKARTA: Two fans died in a stampede at the Southeast Asian Games football final in Jakarta, a report said on Tuesday, overshadowing a win on penalties for defending champions Malaysia against hosts Indonesia.

The two men, wearing Indonesian red-and-white football team T-shirts were taken to hospital at 8:30 pm, around 90 minutes after the stampede broke out, according to a report by the Detik.com news portal, which cited a paramedic.

Local media reported that several other spectators had been taken to hospital, including a nine-year-old boy who had fallen into a coma, as tens of thousands of fans swarmed to the Gelora Bung Karno stadium for Monday night's final.

Hundreds of people were packed tight against ticket barriers as police closed the gates shortly before kick-off, with many fans inside forced to crouch in aisles and walkways, according to an AFP reporter at the scene.

"As we were entering the stadium, the crowd of people pushed each other to make their way forward," Helmi, a relative of one of the victims, said.

He said that his relative "was pushed away from me and we were separated. I then heard that some people had fallen and that people had died."

Helmi added that he "rushed to check" and found his relative dead.

Those in the stands endured a nerve-shredding night and eventual heartbreak as Malaysia won 4-3 on penalties with the game deadlocked at 1-1 after extra-time.

Captain Baddrol Bakhtiar stroked home the winning spot kick to give the visitors gold with a 3-4 penalties victory, sparking jubilant scenes on the pitch and silencing the crowd who had hoped to see Indonesia claim its first Games football gold for two decades.

In a game lacking quality but packed with incident, the hosts took a deserved lead after five minutes when centre-back Gunawan Dwi Cahyo popped up unmarked at the back post to head in a corner.

But Malaysia regrouped, despite the deafening roar of the home fans, to equalise in the 33rd minute with a diving header by Omar Muhammad Asraruddin after some suspect defending by the hosts.

Indonesia missed two penalties, allowing Bakhtiar -- who was the game's standout player -- to steal the headlines with a ice cool spot kick into the bottom corner.

Indonesia topped the Games medal tally with 171 golds and a total medal haul of 454 putting them well ahead of second-placed Thailand on 105 first places, but the win most wanted by fans was in the under-23 football event.

Competition officials had tried to cool the temperature ahead of the game, after Malaysia said it had requested armoured vehicles to escort the team to and from the stadium.

Fears the atmosphere could sour were stoked Sunday after fans angered by a shortage of tickets, burnt down a ticket booth inside the ground and besieged the media centre.

"I really hope our supporters behave themselves and support their team in a good way," Rita Subowo head of Games' organisers Inasoc said before the game.

Inasoc officials had taken to radio and television to call for calm ahead of the match.

The two nations share a long and bitter enmity driven by political and cultural rows and an fierce sporting rivalry, intensified at this Games by the relentless barracking of Malaysian athletes by local fans.

Malaysia's chef-de-mission Datuk Naim Mohamed said Indonesian police had reassured him visiting players and supporters would be protected but urged Games officials to ensure the competition ends on a high.

Elsewhere Thailand -- who won the 2009 Games -- took a commanding hold on second spot in the medals table with 105 golds on Monday, nine clear of Vietnam who were on 96.

The SEA Games, held once every two years, run until Tuesday and see 11 nations competing for hundreds of gold medals.

Pemain Indonesia, Diego Michiels (kanan) cuba mengekang gerakan penyerang Malaysia, Izzaq Faris Ramlan ketika perlawanan peringkat kumpulan Sukan Sea di Jakarta.

KUALA LUMPUR, (Arena.my) - Dengan Indonesia dilaporkan bakal mempertaruhkan kesebelasan utama menentang Malaysia, skuad negara pula menghadapi krisis kecederaan dan kecergasan.

Falcao futsal tips and tricks

Improve your five-a-side with futsal

http://performance.fourfourtwo.com/technique/improve-your-five-a-side-with-futsal

The world’s most skilful player, Brazilian indoor footballer and YouTube sensation Falcao, offers a detailed lesson in the small-sided game.

BALL CONTROL

“Close control is fundamental to this game and to master the technique you have to train with the ball every day. A good training method is to stand in front of a wall and kick the ball against it, using different parts of the your foot and varying the power and curl you put on it. Do this with either foot. Then, when you prepare to control the ball, try to vary the part of your body you control the ball with. This will help to prepare your touch for all situations.”

SHOOTING

“A lot of players make the mistake of just shooting at the target without any thought. When I train to improve my shooting technique I make sure that when I get in front of goal, I get my head up, look where the goalkeeper is, relax and always try to hit a specific part of the goal. Visualise yourself scoring before you shoot.”

PASSING

“The two key elements to passing in small-sided football are speed and the firmness of the pass. When you’re waiting to receive the ball look around to see where the opposition is, where your team-mates are and where the open space is, so that when you get the ball you know what you’re going to do with it. This will speed up the movement and release of the ball. Then make sure your pass is firm because space is tight and defenders will be close.”

COMMUNICATION

“Ideally the best talker in your team will play in defence. From this position he can see the whole game – they can tell players when to pass, when they have a man on and where to move. This helps the other players to concentrate on attacking because they are receiving instructions from a team-mate who can see everything.”

ORGANISATION

“From a defensive perspective, the less you move, the harder you will be to break down. The best way to defend in small-sided football is zonally. You use a lot of energy so don’t waste it chasing the ball into areas where the opposition can’t hurt you. Defend your zone.”

FITNESS

“There’s no better way to improve your fitness for small-sided football than playing the game. But I’d also recommend interval training: sprint hard for a few minutes, then slow the pace for a couple, and then sprint hard again. Repeat this for the same amount of time as your games last. Train as though you’re always on the move.”

Shooting and Defending

Where to shoot when you are in a one-on-one situation.

In Futsal, one on one situations are very common. And it becomes extremely crucial especially when your team are behind and there is a need for a goal. So what is it that you must do when the through ball lands on your feet and you need to get that goal by all means. This is where you must capitalize on that particular opportunity and make it count. A missed chance is what you cannot afford to do at this point. This is because a one-on-one situation is almost a certainty to score and it is sometimes an easier chance as compared to a penalty.

So what is it that you should do when you get that opportunity? Truth is, one-on-one situations looks easy but it is actually harder than it seems. So some of the tricks that you must have when you are in that situation is to aim for the bottom corner but this is much easier if you are running from the wing position. Here you can easily shoot the ball towards the far corner. However, if you are running from the middle, then this might not be your game plan because there is a high chance you will shoot wide. Ultimately, stay calm and cool and then tap the ball, there is no need to blast the ball too hard.

Effective Defending in futsal

If you are playing a highly attacking team in futsal, you will need to have a very effective defence system to break down their game play. While in football, there has been many forms of defence like the man-marking and the zonal marking systems respectively, what type of defence are most effective in this fast paced and more limited game?

If you are a defender, it is important to keep your eyes on the striker who will be the main person the ball will come to. To be effective you will need to be on guard to ensure that he does not get a free run with the ball. Always pressure him and do not give him too much space to move around your D box.

Because you are the defender, ensure that your tackles are accurate. Unless you are very sure you will get the ball, he will invite the opponents to fall down or dive and get a free kick. Any free kicks, whether direct or indirect will be a good chance for them to score. To do this, always keep your eyes on the ball because it is the ball you want and not the player. Remember to be intimidating by moving sideways all the time. This will confuse the striker who might just end up running into you.

Formation in Futsal

Common formations in Futsal

Futsal is a team game, so it is highly important that each player plays a role in the team when they are in competition. But due to the limitation of number of players in the game, it is very important that the formation deployed can get the job done effectively. So what are the common formations which are used in futsal that will govern the game enough so that the players are able to move around with better fluidity considering that the pitch is very small and each player could interchange roles all the time?

The 4-0 formation :

was made popular by the Spain national futsal team. This is where they play in a horizontal line where each player takes on the role of defender, midfielder and forwards respectively.

The 3-1 formation :

common formation where the pivot forward plays on the center with the other 3 feeding the ball and play supporting roles to him.

The 2-2 formation:

where the team goes around in a single unit, passing the ball around them very much like a training session, seizing and taking a scoring opportunity when it comes.

Teams that deploy wingers will use the 1-2-1 formation.

However, selecting the best formation must depends on the type of player in a team. A static(players that like to stick to a single position) player must not be expected to be playing well in the 2-2 formation. Other than that, comfortability and fluidity are also the main concern. Knows your teamate playing style and you will be able to choose the most suitable formation for your team because futsal is not always about individual skills and individual satisfaction, it is about how well you use your own skills for the benefit for the whole team.

What you get from playing futsal?

There are many benefits for the player in training Futsal compared to traditional indoor and outdoor soccer. With the small court and lack of walls, players are constantly placed in demanding decision-making situations, requiring quick thinking, good ball control, precise passing, and creative solutions. The rules of Futsal favour skilful, creative play above the physical contact that tends to be a feature of other soccer.

Smaller team sizes allow players to get more frequent touches on the ball and increased opportunities to score goals. Players are not just a defender or an attacker but a complete player resulting in a much better all-round understanding of the game.

Futsal is fast and exciting, providing an action packed game that keeps players physically active while having fun.

Futsal is a small sided game (5v5) played on a smaller field (roughly basketball court sized) with a smaller (size 3-4) ball.

Futsal has been proven to greatly assist in the development of young players for outdoor football.

FIFA says Futsal is better. US Soccer & USYSA says Futsal is better.

The Brazilians are among the many nations that swear by it.

Pele, Ronaldo, Ronaldinho and Robinho all credit Futsal for much of their skill and technical development.

Just watch Futsal players fight to keep the ball from crossing the touch line and you’ll immediately begin to see how Futsal develops skill, control, and technique. A small field with lines puts players constantly under pressure from other players and out-of-play boundaries. Players must learn to settle the ball rapidly, chop sharply, shield effectively, pass quickly and move into space.

NFS in Futsal?

The need for speed in Futsal

Everyone knows that futsal is a highly fast paced game. It is in fact considered to be one of the fastest games in the sport because the pitch area is very small and there really is no time to waste in planning an attack or something like that. Hence, it is the most essential element of the game. Furthermore, the game is played in 2 halves of 20 minutes each. Therefore, if one team is trailing behind goals, they will need to attack, attack and attack in order to level the score or to try to take the lead.

Futsal does not have the luxury of playing the ball for too long because it will only invite the opponent team to surge forward to try and steal the ball from your team. In Brazil, it is a game played by the kids before they mature into the full football game. Therefore, it is essential that in order to play futsal, you will have to start moving the ball around very quickly while knowing where your teammates are. Instinct is very important and it takes a lot of understanding in order to stage an effective attack that will end up with a goal against your opponents. So, get your ass up and do some agility training..:D
